Ms. Gutowsky’s expertise lies in Total Quality Management (TQM) and process improvement (PI). She acquired a Master of Health and Hospital Administration (MHA) from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1990. Her undergraduate degree was completed at the University of Michigan where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in 1988.

With experiences in several industries, Ms. Gutowsky has developed and implemented corporate TQM programs for many institutions. Her preference has been working with smaller companies, but she did contribute to larger, multi-system implementations (e.g. more than 9,000 employees). Regularly, she has assisted companies in the planning, strategizing, registering, and auditing of quality certification processes. Certified in facilitative and leadership skills, she has actively facilitated, led, and mentored teams involving all levels of staff. Ms. Gutowsky’s analytical and perceptive skills have provided teams and projects with measurements by data and statistical interpretation. Her style includes just-in-time training so that team members are properly instructed on tools and techniques which they actively use in each meeting.

A sampling of her project work on has resulted in, but is not limited to:

  • Strategy meetings where clients are driven, through active facilitation, to defining measurables, customers, unified efforts, processes, to utilize fact-based information in structuring marketing and business planning efforts.

  • Quality certification of companies, especially those that had attempted compliance previously and scored under 50% of total points.

  • Departmental efficiency and productivity analysis, cost-benefit studies, utilization/need analysis, and forecasting which result in improvement opportunities, benchmarking, and process redesign. Detailed investigation, analysis, often resulting in development and implementation of a programs.

  • Clinical concentration in surgical suites, emergency services ambulatory surgery centers, and rehabilitation programs.

  • Active participant on State advisory boards as a result of analysis and planning to include a market's third party payer practices with direct exposure to liquidation/bankruptcy and exclusionary insurance contracts.

Ms. Gutowsky is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Southeastern Michigan Health Executives Forum and American Society of Quality Control. Her experiences and expertise have been shared through a variety of presentations and speaking events through Chamber of Commerce, HIMSS Conference and Exhibitions, ASQC’s Quality Congresses, and ACHE’s Congress on Administration.
